VR project [Rendez-vous] by Fabien Prioville

As part of Cross Project 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Fabien Prioville, a French dancer and choreographer whose talent is matched only by his clear artistic vision. I made with him 360 and 180 immersive videos, working on shooting, stitching, editing and coloring videos.

This experience was made possible by Coorpi and Piemonte dal Vivo, producers of the VR project [Rendez-vous]. It was an intense and inspiring journey—a site-specific work in which Prioville translates his global artistic approach into a VR experience: the stage becomes the space where the audience experiences the performance.

Rendez-vous is a video-dance installation designed for a specific location and time, allowing the audience to experience the work in the exact and privileged space where it was conceived.

Fabien Prioville’s choreography is captured with a 360° camera, and the performance becomes visible to the audience as virtual reality through VR headsets. The VR installation engages the audience’s senses, creating a new perception of space and dance, as the location of the performance coincides exactly  with the physical space of the viewer.

The boundaries between theater, dance, space, audience, movement, and perception expand, challenging the new possibilities of virtual reality and offering a fresh way to create and experience dance.

Here is a short video I made during the exhibit showcase
