Nomadi

An immersive interactive installation tracing the cultural journeys of rice, wheat, and coffee through digital storytelling.

Nomadi is an interactive multimedia installation that takes visitors on an evocative audio-visual journey through more than 50 videos exploring the origins of three universal ingredients: rice, wheat, and coffee. Through interviews and informative clips, the work highlights how these seeds embody cultures, traditions, and narratives that reflect both diaspora and encounters between civilizations.

Created with 40 students from the University and Polytechnic of Turin, under the artistic direction of Ali Zaidi and supported by the Officine Sintetiche team, the installation combines video, graphics, photographs, and sound in an interactive system based on Isadora and Arduino, allowing the audience to actively engage with the experience.

Concept Multimedia System: Stefano Sburlati and Vanessa Vozzo. Technical Arduino solutions: Giacomo Leonzi.

Nomadi was exhibited at PAV – Parco Arte Vivente in Turin from December 2013 to March 2014.
