Sweet end of the World! An award winning visionary 360° experience blending VR, 3D, and spatial audio—traveling the world.
In 2024, I had the chance to work on an extraordinary 360° project co-produced by Motion Pixel, “Sweet End of the World!“. The film is a linear 360°, made by live action and 3D, with ambisonic audio.
I took care of the entire technical side, designing and overseeing every detail to blend, within one immersive stereo 360° environment, live VR 180 3D footage, 3D-generated visuals, and spatialized audio.Working side by side with amazing director Stefano Conca Bonizzoni and our wonderful team was both a challenge and a joy.
Short synopsis: A mother whispers a story to her child while nursing him—a symbolic tale that reimagines ancient myths into contemporary metaphors. Set in a near-future apocalypse, Sweet End of the World! follows four characters navigating the ruins of their collapsing world: a scientist striving to preserve knowledge, a mother searching for her lost child, a nomad chronicling the collapse, and an artist discovering beauty in decay. Through their interconnected stories, the work explores fragility, resilience, and the enduring search for hope. It is a VR 360° 3D fairy tale that reflects on the relationship between humanity and food in the Anthropocene.
Together, we faced the complexity of bringing such an ambitious idea to life and celebrated the thrill of seeing it travel the world, reaching festivals across continents and even winning multiple awards (check it out on the news dedicated page!)
The result is a truly unique and inspiring piece—an artistic journey that reflects on food habits and climate change through an unusual, visionary view.
